We watched the Doctor Who series 10 episode “Smile” on Sunday, August 2. We didn’t realize we’d never talked about series 10 before. We’ll get around to it eventually. Here’s hoping this episode helps you to keep smiling!

Lockes and Keys
Sunday Jul 19, 2020
Sunday Jul 19, 2020
We watched season 1 of the Netflix series Locke & Key, a supernatural horror drama based on the comic book series of the same name by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez. (Neither of us has read the comic series.) We thoroughly enjoyed watching these episodes together.
Grams failed to mention another Black character, Zadie, one of Scot’s friends in the “Savini Squad.” She was still alive at the end of season 1, and we might see her again in season 2.
If you’re a Savini fan, you may have noticed his cameo in the second episode, “Trapper/Keeper” as the local hardware shop owner who knows about keys.
If you like supernatural horror drama, we highly recommend this series.

We completely forgot our spoiler warning before talking about the first episode of the third series of Doctor Who, “Smith and Jones,” but it is over thirteen years old as it aired in March of 2007. This episode was pretty busy with the introduction of fabulous new companion Martha, a plasmavore villain, plus the Judoon, plus it’s been a while since we’ve recorded together, so we talked a bit longer than usual. Also, Riley debuted his new singing recap segment!

Friday May 15, 2020
We watched the Star Trek (the Original Series) episode “The Trouble with Tribbles” and the CBS All Access Short Trek “The Trouble with Edward” on Wednesday, April 15. These were possibly the funniest pair of Star Trek episodes in any of the series. Indeed, they were so entertaining, that Riley might actually watch some Star Trek in the future, when he’s finished with all his other shows. ;)

Grams' Garret 01 - Good Places and Better People
Friday May 01, 2020
Friday May 01, 2020
In this first (and maybe only) episode of Grams’ Garret, Grams talks about The Good Place and the importance of human connection. This was recorded in a different location (the office instead of the living room), so that’s why the audio sounds a bit different.

Riley's Room 01 - One Goosebump

We are not back with We React, but Riley is flying solo in this first episode of Riley’s Room! He read and reacted to the first few pages of a Goosebumps book. Does he have a future in narrating audio books?

Joan of Arc-adia
Wednesday Apr 15, 2020
Wednesday Apr 15, 2020
We watched the first two episodes of the 2003 show “Joan of Arcadia” on Wednesday, April 15, 2020. We very briefly referenced the show’s namesake, Joan of Arc, (who?), though there is little resemblance to the modern-day teenage girl who is visited by God in the guise of various random people. We both thought these first two episodes were a solid foundation for a pretty good show.

Nikola and the Doctor

Sunday Mar 15, 2020
We watched the fourth episode of Doctor Who series 12, “Nikola Tesla’s Night of Terror” on Sunday, February 16. We learned that Nikola Tesla conceived of a great many modern inventions, such as alternating current (AC) (not air conditioning), x-rays, remote control, and wireless power. Not the car, although the Tesla, Inc. car company is named after him. And we learned that Thomas Edison was a terrible person.

We watched the third episode of Doctor Who series 12, “Orphan 55,” five times between us, so you don’t have to. There were a few bright moments among the dregs. :)

We watched the 1999 movie “The Matrix” on Friday, February 14 (the perfect Valentine’s Day movie!). This movie holds up after over 20 years! If you take the red pill, you will hear us talk about Trinity, Morpheus, Neo, and most importantly, Agent Smith.
