The Numbers Nightmare Begins
Saturday Aug 31, 2019
Saturday Aug 31, 2019
We watched an episode of Lost, season 1, episode 18, “Numbers” (2005) and the first episode of Invader Zim, “The Nightmare Begins” (2001) on August 31, 2019. Can you guess which was Riley’s favorite? If you haven’t watched these series, they’re worth checking out. Lost played out a complete story over six seasons, but Invader Zim was cancelled after two short seasons.
Have you watched either of these series? Let us know what you think!

New Werewolf
Sunday Aug 11, 2019
Sunday Aug 11, 2019
We watched two episodes from Doctor Who series 2 (2006), “New Earth” and “Tooth and Claw,” on August 11, 2019. The blobfish that Riley talked about actually does look a bit like the Face of Boe! And this quote: “The sad face of the blobfish belies a kind and very wise little brain in there.” - just replace two words, and you could be talking about the Face of Boe. Also, Pauline Collins played Queen Victoria in “Tooth and Claw.”

Christmas Recon
Saturday Aug 10, 2019
Saturday Aug 10, 2019
We watched the first Doctor Who Christmas special, “The Christmas Invasion,” on August 10, 2019. It really was more of a menacing recon than an actual invasion. We don’t get much time with the Doctor on his feet, but he’s impressive at the end.

Bad Wolf, Finally!
Saturday Aug 03, 2019
Saturday Aug 03, 2019
We watched the final three episodes of Doctor Who Series 1 (2005): “Boomtown,” “Bad Wolf,” and “The Parting of the Ways.” We were happy to finally get to Bad Wolf, but sad to see the Ninth Doctor go. He was fantastic!
Music in this episode was played by Riley on a very old plastic toy.

Appearances Can Be Deceiving
Saturday Jul 06, 2019
Saturday Jul 06, 2019
We watched “Spider-Man: Far From Home” on Friday, July 5, 2019. You should have also watched Avengers: Endgame and Captain Marvel before listening to this - well really, you should have watched all the Marvel movies up to this point. What have you been doing with your life?

Gassy Aliens
Sunday Jun 09, 2019
Sunday Jun 09, 2019
We watched episodes 3, 4, and 5 of Doctor Who series 1, “The Unquiet Dead,” “Aliens of London,” and “World War Three.”
Having survived the adventure in the distant future, Rose is transported to the past to deal with the walking dead in 1869 Cardiff. Charles Dickens makes an entertaining appearance; although poor Gwyneth doesn’t make it out of the episode, it’s not the last we’ll see of the talented Eve Myles.
In “Aliens of London” and “World War Three,” we meet the Slitheen (ew) and Harriet Jones (MP for Flydale North); we will see both again in (different) future episodes of Doctor Who.

White Roses
Saturday May 11, 2019
Saturday May 11, 2019
We watched “Catching Fire” a while ago and “Mockingjay Part 1” on May 11, 2019. When it was released in November 2014, it had the largest opening day of 2014. Jennifer Lawrence was criticized for not being skinny enough in “The Hunger Games.” Yikes.
